  Dr. Gao Xiang, Male, born in April 1960, Professor in wheat genetics and breeding, College of Agronomy, Northwest A & F University.

  Educations:

  1985-1987, studied in Henan Agricultural University; 1990-1993, Master degree of Agronomy, Dept. of Agronomy, Northwestern Agricultural University; 2001-2005, Ph.D. of Agronomy, Dept. of Agronomy, Northwest A & F University;

  Research Interests:

  Wheat genetics and breeding; Improvement of wheat quality.

  Projects & Achievements:

  Hosted nearly 20 science and technology projects, included the National Development and Reform Commission of China “the construction of the original seed base of high quality wheat”, the Ministry of Agriculture “the National Wheat Technology System - Yangling Comprehensive Experimental Station” and “948”, the Ministry of science and technology “Spark plan”, “Scientific and Technological project of Shaanxi Province” and so on. Presided over the breeding of shaan 253(approved in 2001), Shaan 715 (approved in 2005), Shaan 627 (approved in 2006), Xinong 538 (approved in 2010) and Xinong 558 (approved in 2011), Xinong 556 (approved in 2012), Xinong 583 (approved in 2013), Xinong 528 (approved in 2014) and Xinong 188 (approved in 2015) 9 new wheat varieties. Meanwhile, as the main participants, breeding Shaan 229, Shaan 213, Shaan 160, Shaan 354, Shaanhan 8675 5 new wheat varieties. Won 11 prizes of scientific and technological achievements of provincial and ministerial level awards, mainly included: Shaanxi’s Agricultural Extension Award in 1999 "the extension of new wheat varieties Shaan 229 and Xinong 1376 etc ", Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 1998 “the breeding of new wheat variety Shaan 213”, Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 1999 “the breeding of new wheat variety shaan 160 with high quality, early maturity”, Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 2000 “the breeding and extension of new wheat variety Shaanhan 8675”, Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 2001 “the study on composition of high molecular weight glutenin subunits of wheat varieties in Shaanxi province”, Shaanxi’s Agricultural Extension Award in 2002 “the extension and industrialization development of special bread wheat varieties Shaan 150 and Shaan 160”, Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 2003 “the identification technology and resistance mechanism research about wheat slowstriprust”, Ten Largest Agricultural Award of Shaanxi Province in 2005 “the breeding and extension of new wheat variety Shaan 253”, Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 2007 “the breeding and extension of new wheat variety shaan 253 with high-quality and strong gluten”, Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shaanxi Province in 2014 “the breeding and extension of new wheat varieties shaan 627 and shaan 715 of high yield, good quality and multi-resistance”, Yangling Scientific and Technological Award “the breeding and application of new wheat varieties Xinong 538 and Xinong 558 with high yield, multi-resistance and water-saving”
